71st Annual Kansas ESA State Convention
Always by Your Side
We arrived at the Ramada Convention Center in Topeka starting on Thursday with the Executive board and Lamplighter dinners. Everyone was up bright and early to set their tables and prepare for registration and a great time for the weekend. Association of the Arts, Ways and Means Vineyard and the lamplighters always have popular areas where you can buy an opportunity to win some goodies.
Featured event for the Friday night mixer was the "Makin Tracks for St. Jude event. The ESA for St Jude committee put together the "Hats & Horses Extravaganza" the brought in nearly $20,000.
Fashion was abundant and smiles were a good sign that everyone was having a grand time. The candidates skit and a lively auction were a part of the evening. A good time was had by all.
Saturday at convention started early with feature breakfasts and the opening of tables for members to shop. The General Assemblies, Awards Luncheon, and Saturday night banquet featured the day.

Angie's Sunday Closing Remarks
As I look back over all that has happened in just one short year, I am humbled by the amount of work and dedication that everyone has put in in the name of ESA.
I can’t tell you how happy I was to learn about all of the different ways you incorporated my theme into your own chapters. There was a Pet Parade, a Pet Walk that turned into a Pet Calendar, and even a Pet Halloween Costume Contest. You incorporated it into your educational programs and your literacy programs. You even cleaned out your closets, or managed to go shopping for our furry friends so that their lives could be more comfortable. I hope that you have enjoyed your projects this year and that you will continue to help out our four-legged friends since they really don’t have a voice of their own.
Thank you for a Pawsitively Fantastic year!
I think I’m ready to lie down on the porch for just a little while now; but as I step down from being your “top dog” I would like to leave you with this quote from Edmund Lee – “Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.”
Thank you for seeing the greatness within me.
